"Maman" is a search for memory: what if the memory of a person is dependent on the images that remain, if it is based solely on storytelling, gets a life of its own in this way, and is considered the truth?
"Maman" uses the images of my mother, who died of the effects of cancer in 2008, to look for the memories. How can I find my mother in my memory? How can I bring my mother back to life through the images?
In an alternating analytical and reflective way I talk to my mother in a monologue. I ask, but I get no answer. I am looking for my memory based on photos, videos and testimonials of people who were in her close environment.
"Maman" is a dreamy story about my mother's life, but also an ode to the images my father made of my mother.
