Renate (57) has suspected for years that her husband is cheating.
As a final confirmation of what she already knows, she is going to listen to him when he and his mistress meet at a hotel. She makes sure that she is there one night in advance, so that before she starts listening she can carefully and routinely prepare herself in her hotel room. Everything is going according to plan. When her husband and his girlfriend arrive in the room next to her, she can start listening quietly. However, it is not immediately interesting.
Suddenly there is music, something that makes her very upset. Although she is clearly affected, she continues to listen to the music. In the meantime, a beam of light teases her but she keeps shutting it out. Light is her companion in this story, a comforting factor that returns a number of times.
