An old man is locked in a dark attic only lit by a red oil lamp. He drowns in solitude and is totally alienated from time and reality. The only thing that keeps him alive is his faith in communism and the will to carry out the important task he was given. So he and his comrades can set the revolution in motion to liberate Belgium of the capitalist swines. But his foodsupplies are running out and he has been waiting so long for the all-deciding phonecall from the Sovjet-Union. Doubt and uncertainty starts to kick in. Not only in himself but in his comrades and his ideology. When workmen brake in to his house they tell him that the Soviet-Union has fallen a decade ago. He storms away confused and dissapointed to find his comrades and to find answers. When he finally finds one of his comrades he discovers that he was locked away all these years for nothing.
